Ling Woo Liu

Director of Marketing and Communications

Ling Woo Liu is the Director of Marketing and Communications at The San Francisco Foundation. Ling manages media relations and helps develop marketing and communications strategies for programmatic work as well as donor relations.

Previously, Ling worked at the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health, where she produced a documentary photography project about the “Super Parents” of children with chronic illnesses. The project received national media attention. She also worked for Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Asian Law Caucus, where she led communications strategy for the US Supreme Court case Kerry v. Din, and helped pass California’s Fred Korematsu Day, the first day in US history named after an Asian American. Prior to her non-profit work, Ling spent 10 years as a multimedia journalist in the US and Asia, including a stint as a reporter for TIME magazine in Hong Kong.

Ling holds degrees in Journalism, Asian Studies and Anthropology from UC Berkeley.
