Applying to the San Francisco Foundation
In common with many other grant-making foundations, the San Francisco Foundation can make grants to organizations which are not a 501(c)(3) organization, provided they have a fiscal sponsor. When considering a grant to an organization which has a Fiscal Sponsor, The San Francisco Foundation requires a ‘Letter of Resolution’ on the letterhead of the fiscal sponsor organization, which includes the following information:
- Confirmation of the name of the fiscal sponsor organization
- Confirmation that the Fiscal Sponsor Organization fiscally sponsors the organization applying
- Support for the name/purpose of the project for which the fiscally sponsored organization is applying to The San Francisco Foundation
Organizations in need of a Fiscal Sponsor
The San Francisco Foundation does not act as a fiscal sponsor for other organizations. Below is a list of fiscal sponsor organizations we commonly see used by organizations that apply to us for funding. Please note, this does not represent a recommendation of any organization.
