Community Development

We invest in change through community development because everyone should have a chance to share in the prosperity the Bay Area has to offer. We invest in housing stability and economic security to help families save and build assets to move up the economic ladder and create opportunity for generations of Bay Area families.
Please note: Community Development is no longer its own Program Area and is being reviewed as part of our strategic planning process.  Please check back after June 1, 2016 for more information or contact the Program Director or Program Officer with whom you worked on previous grants.
Financial Resiliency &
Asset Building

A person who attends six hours of financial education classes will save two and a half times more money each month than someone who does not.
Quality Affordable Housing

A supportive and stable home environment builds family assets, enhances health outcomes, and improves students’ educational success.
Job Training & Creation

Job training and placement programs that are designed by a collaborative of employers, educators, and funders improve job placement success.
Foreclosure Prevention

Counseling, policy advocacy, and support services help families avoid displacement, protect family and community assets, and preserve and stabilize neighborhoods.
