Community Health

We invest in change through community health because as a community, we rely on each other to enjoy longer and healthier lives. While working to prevent unnecessary illness and harm and protecting each person’s access to medically and linguistically competent care, we can help everyone in the Bay Area to enjoy great health at all stages of life.

Please note: Community Health is no longer its own Program Area and is being reviewed as part of our strategic planning process.  Please check back after June 1, 2016 for more information or contact the Program Director or Program Officer with whom you worked on previous grants.

Starting regular exercise at any point in your life will make you feel better and extend your life.

Children with asthma who receive primary care from a doctor who speaks their language and understands their community reduces emergency visits 50%.

6.9 million previously uninsured Californians will now be eligible for high-quality, comprehensive health care under the Affordable Care Act.
