Mohrhardt Grant Program Protects and Preserves the Redwoods

The Evelyn Tilden Mohrhardt Fund was established for the protection and preservation of redwood trees and endangered animal species. On July 5th, we invited organizations to apply for the Mohrhardt Grant Program, focusing on projects or programs that protect or preserve redwood trees.

Annual grants ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 will be awarded this year. Grant funds may be used for pre-acquisition costs, acquisition costs, land management, and stewardship. The San Francisco Foundation will administer the Mohrhardt Grant Program once a year and by invitation only. Multiyear proposals will be considered for organizations where the protection and preservation of redwoods trees is at the core of their mission.

Invited organizations must login to Grantee Center and complete and submit their application by July 23, 2012. Invited organizations are encouraged to download the RFP for complete information about eligibility, evaluation criteria, and the application process.
