Jidan Terry-Koon, MPA/URP
Senior Program Officer, People
Why do you do what you do? What drew you to the foundation?
In the words of the artist Marc Bamuthi Joseph, “I serve a dream, not an institution.” I dream about reclaiming the freedom, harmony, generosity and shared destiny that is innate to all of creation. I joined the foundation because I sensed that many of the people here are dreaming the same dream.
How would you describe your role?
I conduct grantmaking, civic leadership and donor alignment activities that support economic security as well as cross-departmental goals. I bring a grassroots organizing and movement building lens to issues of economic security, including worker rights, education equity and justice reinvestment. I love practicing collaboration, connection, transparency and shared leadership every day. I invest in developing (as well as growing with) those around me and seek to be in my full power in service of racial and economic justice.
Are you involved in any volunteer activities?
I serve on the board of the Courage Campaign.
