Why do you do what you do?
I love reading about finance and had an interest in understanding how a business works. In high school, I was always reading biographies and memoirs of business leaders to learn how they started businesses and navigated moments of crisis. I enjoy the analysis and digging into numbers, and continue to work for the betterment of society as a whole.
What drew you to the foundation?
I was amazed and inspired by the foundation’s equity agenda and work with the community. The foundation’s commitment to advancing racial equity and economic inclusion aligns with my personal values.
How would you describe your role?
As a Financial Analyst, I help the Finance team in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. I analyze past and current financial data and prepare projections based on the analysis. I also support the foundation’s Program-Related Investments (PRI) organizations and funds that benefit low-wealth individuals, families, businesses, and communities in the Bay Area. I also help with the due diligence of new investments to ensure credit quality and report results to our PRI Committee.
Are you involved in any volunteer activities?
I started volunteering when I was 16. I was distressed by the climate change and started working to create awareness for the tree plantation and have planted more than 1,000 trees to date. I contributed to many Feed The Hunger projects in India. I also helped the Lions Eye Hospital and organized several eye camps which provide free cataract operations to those in need.
