Program Assistant, People
Why do you do what you do? What drew you to the foundation?
Being early in my career, the honest answer is that I am still discovering why I do what I do. However, what drives me is the passion to learn how to navigate our current systems and leverage them in a way that will promote equity, but more specifically racial and education equity. The foundation is a special place that encourages a holistic approach to the work, taking into consideration both the person and the skill set.
How would you describe your role?
There is no simple way to answer this. I am most generally charged with project management tasks and tracking for the team. However, I contribute to our overall internal processes ensuring that we are able to effectively do our work for the communities of folks that we support with our grantmaking. Additionally, I take an active role in developing external relationships with grantees and collaborating with team members to support the development of People Pathway strategy and sub-programs.
Are you involved in any volunteer activities?
I am currently volunteer coaching for the Chabot College track and field team.
