On February 7th, The San Francisco Chronicle reported on a panel hosted by UC Berkeley discussing “Cities in the Age of Trump.” The panel featured Carol Galante, a professor at the College of Environmental Design; Prudence Carter, the dean of Cal’s Graduate School of Education; Gabe Metcalf, President and CEO of SPUR; and Fred Blackwell, CEO of the San Francisco Foundation.
“If cities across the country can be a success, they can be beacons within their states,” Metcalf said. “The Bay Area can be a model, staking out a claim that we have a different way” by welcoming immigrants and finding ways to boost new forms of research and business.
