This year continues to reveal the many ways that we must recover, reimagine and rebuild our nation so that it works for everyone. The two destructive pandemics—COVID-19 and systemic racism—have exposed, for the world to see, how inequity continues to eat away at the foundation of our country.
Everything that we do at the San Francisco Foundation is in service of our North Star: creating a Bay Area where everyone can get a good job, live in an affordable home, and exercise their voice, no matter their skin color or zip code.
This year, the San Francisco Foundation successfully pushed for swift protections and policies for the Bay Area residents hit the hardest by multiple crises. In addition to issuing emergency COVID-19 grants to nearly 400 frontline organizations, we used our voice, research expertise, and convening power. These efforts advanced just policies, helped keep people in their homes, and will ensure a historic turnout in a critical election year.
All of this work was made possible by the Bay Area Leads Fund. More than ever, the fund has an urgent role to play. We are deeply grateful to partner with you on our shared vision of a truly inclusive Bay Area.
