Artistic Hubs Cohort

Artistic Hubs Cohort

The rising cost of living in the Bay Area has displaced scores of arts organizations. To help keep these critical cultural programs in their communities, the foundation launched the Artistic Hubs Cohort in 2013 and is now supporting the third cohort. The program supports arts organizations that advance racial and economic equity and serve as cultural anchors for underserved communities. Members receive multiyear grants for general operating support, as well as technical assistance throughout the duration of the grant period.

2021-2023 Malonga Arts Collective Members

The 2021-2023 cohort represents a collective of arts organizations part of the Malonga Casquelourd Center for the Arts, a historic building in the Lakeside Apartments District that is currently a performance and art space operated by Oakland Parks and Recreation. Together, these organizations serve as intersections of artistic excellence, community access, and social justice.
