SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The San Francisco Foundation (SFF) announced Amy Chung and Laura Sims as its newest appointees to the Board of Trustees. Their five-year appointments are in effect until 2031.
“The challenges and opportunities facing the Bay Area require leaders like Amy and Laura who can think strategically, build strong partnerships, and stay focused on long-term impact,” said Fred Blackwell, CEO of the San Francisco Foundation. “We are excited to welcome them to the SFF Board and grateful for the perspective, expertise, and commitment they bring to this work.”
Amy Chung has spent more than two decades working at the intersection of investing, philanthropy, and community development. Most recently, she served as Managing Director of Private Markets at The California Endowment, where she played a key role in aligning the organization’s $4 billion investment portfolio with its mission. Previously, Chung held impact investing roles at Living Cities and Citi Community Capital. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Center for Community Investment.
“I am honored to join the San Francisco Foundation’s Board of Trustees and to give back to the Bay Area community I love,” said Chung. “Throughout my career, I have seen how capital can create opportunities and strengthen communities. I am inspired by SFF’s approach to combining philanthropy and investment to expand opportunities across the Bay Area.”
Laura Sims is a veteran investor with deep experience helping organizations grow and thrive through strategic investment and long-term stewardship. She is currently a Senior Partner overseeing direct investments for a family office and previously served as a Partner at Sageview Capital and an Associate at TPG Capital. Sims also serves on the Board of Trustees of Children’s Day School in San Francisco and on the boards of several growth-stage companies.
“The Bay Area has been my home for more than 25 years, and I have never stopped believing in its potential,” said Sims. “I am honored to join the San Francisco Foundation’s Board of Trustees and support an organization that understands the Bay Area can only thrive when its communities thrive.”
