Why do you do what you do? What drew you to the foundation?
My parents were always active in various nonprofits, including our church, so it came naturally to me to continue giving back to the community. I enjoy what I do, and it’s nice to know that I’m contributing to the foundation’s goal to advance equity. I’m extremely grateful to be part of the foundation, especially at this particular time.
How would you describe your role?
I manage the foundation’s resources to ensure that we’re in compliance with federal and state regulations. This allows us to accomplish our mission and provide comfort to our various partners, who know that our funds are being properly managed.
Are you involved in any volunteer activities?
I have been a member of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus for more than 20 years. The chorus gives a voice to people who haven’t had one. We are protesting through the power of music.
