Why do you do what you do?

As a native Bay Area resident and a parent, I have a personal commitment to building a better Bay Area for all.

What drew you to the foundation?

I’ve had the privilege of partnering with SFF’s staff for many years and have been inspired by their dedication as well as SFF’s leadership and reputation to build strong relationships to build a thriving Bay Area.

How would you describe your role?

I work with individuals and families who care about making a difference in their community. I help them develop and implement their philanthropic investment strategies that align with their values and impact they’d like to see in the world. I offer advice on grant recommendations and effective giving, facilitate family meetings, and help involve the next generation of family members in the joys of charitable giving.

Are you involved in any volunteer activities?

I serve as a Co-Chair for the National Center for Family Philanthropy Community Foundation Network, Advisor for 21/64, Advisor for the member engagement committee for Northern California Grantmakers, participate in a giving circle where we pool resources together, and the Executive Board of our child’s school.  Previously, I served on the national board of Advisors in Philanthropy, as a co-chair for Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy and was an appointee to the Cultural Arts Funding Advisory Committee for the City of Oakland.
