Nancy Braxton
Program Administrative Manager, Power
Why do you do what you do?
I do what I do, because it motivates me to continue to move forward in life and to imagine the possibilities of what community should look like. I was born in a community, live in a community, I am a part of community, and want to continue to help support communities in need.
What drew you to the foundation?
What drew me to come back to the foundation is to continue the good work. I have been performing this work and building foundational processes and procedures to assure the work is done at an optimal level. I have also made strong connections with my colleagues at the foundation, community organizations, and grantees in communities that matter to me.
How would you describe your role?
I would describe my role as being responsible for supporting the grantmaking and strategy implementation for the Power Pathway. I contribute to the development and assist with the implementation and project management of pathway strategies and results-based outcomes that advance racial equity and economic inclusion in the San Francisco Bay Area. Through strengthening grassroots organizing by community and faith-based organizations building, we create a pipeline of BIPOC leaders and promote integrated voter engagement and political power-building.
What inspires you?
Things that inspire me are my friends, family, community, and last but not least my faith.
