Give Guide: Los Angeles Area Fire Relief

Give Guide: Los Angeles Area Fire Relief

Here in California, wildfires have become an unfortunate part of the landscape, but we are still devastated by their life-shattering impact. We send our deepest sympathies to the families and communities impacted by the recent fires in and around Los Angeles. To all those battling the fires and stepping up to provide relief, we give our heartfelt thanks. We can make a difference today by supporting the organizations below and the many others working on immediate relief and long-term recovery.

These recommendations have been curated by SFF staff and include trusted organizations responding to the immediate crisis and assisting long-term recovery efforts. Advisors to SFF donor advised funds can make grants directly from their funds.

Black LA Relief & Recovery Fund

The California Black Freedom Fund and California Community Foundation have partnered to launch the Black LA Relief & Recovery Fund. Historically Black communities, especially in Altadena and Pasadena, have been hit particularly hard by this disaster. These neighborhoods — once places of promise and opportunity for middle-class Black families unable to purchase homes in other parts of Los Angeles because of racist covenants and redlining — have been lost, and homes passed down from generation to generation have been destroyed.
