Khanh Russo Appointed as San Francisco Foundation’s Vice President of Policy and Innovation

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The San Francisco Foundation announces the appointment of Khanh Russo as the organization’s Vice President of Policy and Innovation (VPPI). Mr. Russo joined the foundation in 2020, and most recently served as its Interim Vice President for Policy and Innovation and Senior Director for the Partnership for the Bay’s Future. 

“Khanh brings the depth and breadth of expertise to lead this important work and fabulous team,” said Judith Bell, Chief Impact Officer of the San Francisco Foundation. “He has already shown the power and promise of his leadership throughout his time in the interim role.”  

Prior to his current role at the foundation, Mr. Russo brings experience from the public sector, where he was Director of Strategic Partnerships and Performance for San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo. He also worked in different philanthropic positions in the private sector while at Cisco Systems and in the nonprofit sector at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. 

“I am honored and excited to be leading the foundation’s public policy and innovation focus to achieve policy and systems change to advance racial equity and economic inclusion,” said Khanh Russo. 

Mr. Russo is well connected to several community organizations across the region, including in San Jose and the South Bay where he resides. He will start his new role as Vice President of Policy and Innovation on March 1, 2022.
