Inside Philanthropy: Philanthropy Steps Up As Immigration Policies Threaten Basic Services
In an effort to raise attention to this issue, a coalition of California-based foundations recently declared a public health emergency in response to what they called “the violent and unnecessary immigration enforcement escalating in Minnesota, California and communities across the nation.” The long list of funders includes the Akonadi Foundation, Blue Shield Foundation of California, the California Community Foundation, California Wellness Foundation and the San Francisco Foundation.
