SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The San Francisco Foundation (SFF) announces that Christopher Burnett has been appointed to its Board of Trustees. His five-year appointment is in effect until 2029.
“Christopher brings to SFF extensive experience in philanthropy and policy advocacy in the Bay Area and beyond,” says SFF CEO Fred Blackwell. “We are grateful to have him join our Board during this critical time for our communities.”
Burnett is president of the Long Ridge Foundation and Long Ridge Action Fund, which help create a more equitable society through its grant support and policy advocacy in the areas of voting rights, human rights, immigrant rights, education, and more. He serves on several Boards of Directors, including the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute.
In addition, he has a background in real estate development and management and holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering at University of Colorado Boulder.
“With its unwavering commitment to justice, equity and inclusion, the San Francisco Foundation is not only a leader in the Bay Area – it is also a role model for institutions nationwide,” says Burnett. “I am honored to join its Board of Trustees and look forward to serving our communities.”
