SAN FRANCISCO, CA – San Francisco Foundation (SFF) has appointed Peter Bratt and Kimberly Brandon to its Board of Trustees. Their five-year appointments are in effect until 2030.
“Peter and Kimberly bring to SFF deep expertise in the arts, finance, and community service, as well as a love for the Bay Area,” says SFF CEO Fred Blackwell. “We are grateful to have them join the SFF Board during this important time for our communities.”
Peter Bratt is a Peabody Award-winning, Emmy-nominated filmmaker, Rockefeller Fellow, and member of the Directors Guild of America. He is also a recipient of the UC Santa Cruz Social Sciences Alumni of the Year Award. Raised in San Francisco by an Indigenous mother from Peru, Bratt and his family were deeply involved in Indigenous social justice movements, from the American Indian Occupation of Alcatraz, the Wounded Knee stand-off, the Pacific Northwest fishing rights struggle, and the United Farm Workers movement. He currently serves as Project Lead for The Village SF, a groundbreaking initiative led by Friendship House Association of American Indians to establish the first-ever urban Indigenous village in the United States.
“I’m honored to join the SFF Board and contribute to its legacy of equity-driven storytelling and impact,” says Bratt.
Kimberly Brandon has a decorated career in financial services along with an extensive engagement in public service. She most recently served as Senior Vice President with The Brandon Group at Morgan Stanley, where she oversaw a portfolio of assets of high-net-worth individuals, foundations, endowments and public entities. Brandon is a graduate of San Francisco State University. She is also a member of the University’s Lam Family College of Business Development Council. Brandon is the first African American woman to have served on the San Francisco Port Commission and is also a current board member of PACT, Inc., and President of the San Francisco Chapter of the Links, Incorporated.
“As a lifelong San Franciscan dedicated to service and equity, I am profoundly honored to join the San Francisco Foundation Board,” says Brandon. “I look forward to working towards a more equitable and inclusive Bay Area where every resident has access to opportunity and belonging.”
