Castle Sinicrope
Strategic Learning and Evaluation, Senior Officer
Why do you do what you do?
I am passionate about using data to shine a light on racial disparities and deeply rooted structural inequities. Beyond identifying challenges, I believe in the power of data and stories to lift up community experiences and voices in pursuit of a better future. I strive to empower others to use data and information to create a more inclusive and equitable Bay Area for all.
What drew you to the foundation?
I was drawn to the foundation by SFF’s Equity Agenda and its bold and unapologetic commitment to advancing racial justice and economic inclusion. After years of evaluating programs and initiatives aimed at addressing inequities, I am honored to support a culture of learning and growth for a key Bay Area funder, working in partnership with community, to advance equity in the Bay Area.
How would you describe your role?
I collaborate with SFF staff to turn information into actionable insights that can strengthen our work and move our Equity Agenda forward.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by young people and those working towards change in community. I serve on the board of Oakland-based Destiny Arts Center, whose mission is to inspire and ignite social change through the arts. Every day, my children remind me the future is what we make of it and that we must commit ourselves to being the change we wish to see in the world.
