Natalie Keane
Strategic Planning Program Manager
Why do you do what you do?
I’m inspired by community members who drive us toward the vibrant future we dream of and deserve. Before coming to the foundation, I worked closely with food entrepreneurs and beginning farmers who taught me so much about patience, resilience, and ingenuity. They have my gratitude for illuminating my joy in supporting those most impacted by the systems that need changing in order for us all to thrive.
What drew you to the foundation?
San Francisco Foundation’s People, Place, Power grantmaking frame resonated with me as an approach that packed a mean punch. I believe that making change that sticks starts by recognizing the interconnectedness of many factors and their impacts on communities more holistically. For me, the work of the People, Place, Power pathways follows a dynamic map to drive toward racial equity and economic inclusion.
How would you describe your role?
The Department of the CEO is tasked with strategic direction and leadership to align the Foundation’s work to meet our mission. My role supports that effort through documentation of conversations, processes, and timelines to align multiple bodies of work. I also manage our Chief of Staff’s schedule, support the coordination of strategic planning sessions, and track follow-up actions to support making progress on our plan.
