Why do you do what you do?
As an Oakland native and the daughter of a Hunters Point native, I have deep roots in the Bay Area and have seen the many iterations of the Bay Area. At a young age I sat in many political and community organizing spaces which influenced the direction of my adulthood.
What drew you to the foundation?
I was drawn to the foundation because of its desire to push the expectations of philanthropy. What has kept me here is meeting people that push the foundation to leverage the resources of philanthropy to help organizations hold our communities.
How would you describe your role?
As a fellow, my role is to learn as much as I can from my colleagues while also bringing my on the ground organizing knowledge to contribute to grantmaking strategies.
What inspires you?
My family and community are what inspire me and ground me.
