Sophia Luna
Senior Assistant, Philanthropy and Gift Planning
Why do you do what you do?
Growing up with parents from Mexico, it became apparent that one’s socioeconomic standing lent them a different experience to access of opportunity, resources, and representation. So, it inspired me to use my career to elevate those who have been systematically underrepresented and to use my work to become a helpful community member.
What drew you to the foundation?
I was incredibly drawn to the San Francisco Foundation’s dedication to equity. I believe there is a lot of responsibility and stewardship in philanthropy, and I admired that SFF intentionally operates with the agenda of fostering pivotal and racially equitable change in the Bay Area.
How would you describe your role?
I provide administrative support to our Philanthropy and Gift Planning team, by being of resource to our Philanthropic Advisors and to our donors with funds at SFF.
What inspires you?
I am inspired to be the best steward of my heritage, family, and of the beautiful outdoors!
