Director, Policy Fund
Why do you do what you do?

I’m proud to have been raised by immigrants: my mom is from the Philippines and my dad is from Turkey. Growing up in the Bay Area with my family, I saw firsthand how where we live and who we are shape our access to opportunity. I’m grateful that my family was able to put down roots and call this amazing region home. Today, it’s both a personal and professional priority to work toward a Bay Area where everyone can thrive.

What drew you to the foundation?

To work at the intersection of policy and philanthropy with a team committed to opportunity for all.

How would you describe your role?

I lead the Policy Fund of the Partnership for the Bay’s Future, where we support local communities in addressing the housing affordability crisis. Every day in the Bay Area, people are forced to choose between housing and other basic necessities. It doesn’t have to be this way — through values-driven collaboration, policy change, and investment, we can achieve a Bay Area of shared prosperity.

Are you involved in any volunteer activities?

I’m active in the community through my local planning commission and county-wide Commission on the Status of Women. I’m also honored to support our incredible Bay Area nonprofits, including serving on the board of directors for the Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN). Outside of policy and local government, I love helping my two young kids experience all our region has to offer, and supporting their schools and activities.
