Kristen M. Angel
Senior Human Resources and Administration Manager
Why do you do what you do? What drew you to the foundation?
I love what I do here because it’s ultimately about serving our most valuable resource, our staff (current, former and future). It’s actually kind of funny how I ended up here. I was working for a land-use policy reform organization, and we received a grant from the foundation and I thought, “What would it be like to work for a funder?” I looked at the employment opportunities, applied, and here I am. Now, more than a decade later, I know what it’s like to work for a funder, and I stay. I stay for the incredibly passionate, intelligent and kind folks that are drawn to the foundation and for our commitment to a more racially and economically inclusive Bay Area.
How would you describe your role?
On any given day I could be playing a small part in helping someone find a job here where they can thrive, or working with a general contractor on building out space, or helping someone take full advantage of the great benefits we offer.
