What drew you to the foundation?
SFF was the first funder of KQED, way back in 1954, so the idea that maybe I could give back to SFF by lending my content expertise was a good fit for me. When Fred reached out to me with the idea, I was surprised, but after talking with Abdi, Ophelia and Bob, I became convinced that my service and background might be useful. I am very interested in the direction that Fred has set, to center equity and to reimagine philanthropy. I’m excited about the opportunity and humbled by the challenge.
