San Francisco Examiner: What a Kamala Harris presidency does — and doesn’t — represent
The Examiner spoke to a half-dozen Asian American and Black leaders, advocates, and academics in San Francisco to reflect on what Harris’ potential presidency would mean for historically marginalized groups, and to explore the power — and limits — of representation.
SFF’s Michelle L. Myles Chambers, Ph.D. is quoted throughout the article and shares her perspective as co-founder of the Womxn of Color, Womxn of Power program, an initiative that helps womxn of color pursue positions of power.
“When progressive women of color are in leadership, we are likely to see more trust, better policies and increased sense of belonging, all of which strengthens our multicultural, multiracial democracy and increases the vitality of the region.”
